The Newberry Library Scholl Center for American History and Culture Call for Proposals
for the 2016-2017 academic year is now open
The Dr. William M. Scholl Center for American History and Culture promotes research and teaching through the use of the Newberry’s rich collections in American history, literature, and culture. Our programs include an annual series of seminars in cooperation with Chicago-area universities. These seminars include: American Art and Visual Culture; American Literature; Borderlands and Latino/a Studies; History of Capitalism;Labor History; Gender and Sexuality Studies, American Political Thought; and Urban History Dissertation Group. Proposals will be accepted from March 1 to May 1, 2016. To submit a proposal, please visit our webform and upload a one-page proposal, a statement explaining the relationship of the paper to your other work, and a brief CV. Applications will not be accepted via email or in hard copy.
